The fall…
Her bare feet barely touch the floor,
As she ran, as she tore.
Trudging through the forgotten lands,
Leaving the unforgiving shore behind, so far.
Her breath escapes staggered,
Desperate.
The beating of her heart.
Boom boom, boom boom.
Which way to turn,
No where to go, no one to hear.
Her damp hair sticks to her.
Hands wet, fear.
Her face swollen, heart torn
She stops,
The horizon stares back.
The salty air blows past.
No time, her lifeless eyes close.
Hell was beckoning.
A burning desire to fight,
She held out her arms.
Let them try,
A gentle nudge,
She let go.
In order to fly, one must first…

“A gentle nudge,
She let go.
In order to fly, one must first…” I agree. A outstanding poem.
